Earlier this year I started working with a new client who was building a new house. She had picked almost everything out and put it on her Houzz idea book. She then sent me the idea book, so I could see her ideas and fabrics that she had chosen. Houzz is a great tool for this, it made the process so easy.

A while back I worked on a job with Holly Blumeyer, one of the designers I work with. We measured the project about a year ago, and there was a lot of deciding on fabric and some remodeling took place. This project included work in the Dining Room, Family Room, and Master Bedroom. I shared on Facebook some of the project, but never followed up on the completed project. So here are the pictures.

I know I just did a post on a couple of old chairs, but back in February I re-upholstered another pair, that I never shared. So today I thought I would share these. These 2 chairs are also a classic chair, that the client picked up somewhere for very little money. They did need a little bit more work then the other set. So I thought I would show you the process I go thru when I re-upholster a chair. …Continue Reading

A few weeks ago we installed a project that we worked with Holly Blumeyer on. It was for St. Louis Parking in the U.S. Bank building on the 24th Floor in downtown St. Louis. I first went down there with Holly to take measurements and a couple of pictures that I thought would be helpful to have before the install. Mark and I then went down and picked up the seats so we could recover them and I had him look at where he would be installing and what he would be installing into. So there were no surprises! 🙂 …Continue Reading

About a month or so ago, I had a new client text me pictures of her old chairs that she had picked up somewhere and asked if I could re-upholster them. Another workroom from our WCAA (Window Coverings of America Association) group, had given her my phone # and name, she doesn’t do upholstery. I replied that I could and sent her an estimate and told her I would put her on my list as soon as she had the fabric. Over the next several weeks she sent me texts of different fabrics and asked my opinion. She settled on a fabric and her name went on the list. Last week I picked up the chairs and stripped them both in a morning. I did share pictures of some of the process on Facebook, but thought I would follow-up with a post on the project. …Continue Reading

In the past couple of weeks I have installed window treatments, and chair seats in a corner office in downtown St. Louis, slipcovered a sofa, and re-upholstered a couple of chairs. In this post I will share the before and after of the sofa. I did put a few pictures on Facebook, but thought I would follow-up with a post about the complete transformation. I will show you the window treatment and chairs in another post. …Continue Reading

So today I did a quick easy project and thought I would share it with you. A couple of weekends ago I picked up several pieces of furniture to re-upholster and slipcover. One of them was this ottoman, and the client has a stash of fabric so as we were loading a loveseat to re-upholster and a wingback chair to slipcover, she said, why don’t we just add this one too! So I said ok! Today I was waiting for a delivery to come before I could finish up another project, so I decided to work on the ottoman, knowing it wouldn’t take to long. …Continue Reading

Finally I am writing about a project I installed after we got back from our trip. This was another great project that we crafted for JCR Design Group. We worked previously with them on several other projects in this same home.

This is the last part of our journey, but I have one more post about our trip after this one. But I will have it later, since I have several workroom related posts that I want to publish first. I am getting bad about posting regularly, and you are probably getting tired of the trip posts, but I kind of considered it like my vacation photo album and if I put it down it will be somewhere that I can look back on it. So you can consider it my electronic photo album/diary! …Continue Reading

I know I always say sorry for the time between posts, and once again, it has been awhile. Life around the Younger household has been a little crazy the last few weeks, but hopefully things will start settling down. Beside going to Europe, Hannah and I had planned a trip to the CMA Fan Fest over a year ago, so we got back from it on Monday afternoon and turned right around and left for Ian’s(my baby) graduation from Air Force Basic Training. I have also had a few installs of window treatments and furniture between all the traveling and promise to share some of them, once I wade my way thru the europe trip. Hope you are not getting tired of it! …Continue Reading
